Braille and Audiobook Production
CMVIP provides visually impaired members with access to a variety of spiritual publications.
Production scope: Bibles, hymns, spiritual books, devotional materials, course notes, gospel tracts, pamphlets, Christian newspapers, magazines, etc.
Production process: Through collaboration between visually impaired and sighted individuals (co-workers and volunteers), Braille publications are scanned, collated, and typeset using computers. The books are then printed and bound using a double-sided Braille copier.
For audiobook production, in addition to collaboration between visually impaired staff and volunteers in the recording studio, volunteers can also record audiobooks using computers or smartphones in a suitable environments outside the studio. These recordings are then edited by visually impaired recording staff to create audio publications.
With the rapid advancement of technology, in order to increase production capacity, CMVIP embarked on a new direction in 2024: using text-to-speech services to produce audiobooks to meet demand.
